Deadly Premonition: The Board Game, the newest project from Rising Star Games, has been fully funded in just 8 hours and 14 minutes. The studio’s funding goal was $50,000 and going into their second day they’re already pushing $90,000 with a little over 1,400 backers and 28 days to go. The Kickstarter page for the project is still up for fans of the concept who’d like to support it while also securing a copy of a steam key or standard edition. You can watch the video below for more info on the campaign:

Deadly Premonition is a 2007 cult classic video game developed by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro (who has approved the board game proposal by Rising Star Games) and Tomio Kanazawa. You play as special agent Francis York Morgan who investigates the murder of a young woman in a small town full of strange characters while also trying to avoid being caught by a raincoat killer. It’s a very unique game with open world, survival horror, and comedy elements which has lead to it holding a Guinness World Record for the “most critically polarizing survival horror game.” Its odd, unsettling soundtrack grows on you and the overall theme may have you nostalgic for the atmosphere of Twin Peaks. The director’s cut is currently available on Steam for about $25, if you haven’t yet experienced the quirky and strange characters of Greenvale or if you’d like to revisit them before the board game is released.
