Destiny 2 Ditches Disliked Feature

So I’ll just jump straight into it, you guys remember those grimoire cards ? Well say good bye boys cause that shit ain’t coming back.

Now while I and many other people enjoy the lore of the universe of Destiny, one of the dumbest things Bungie could have done was NOT add them in game. In order for players to further immerse themselves into the Destiny universe they had to go online and look up the cards their in a somewhat cluttered and messy UI. While logging onto a website isn’t necessarily a problem, it’s just the inconvenience and the lack of reason as to why these cards were never added into the game.

Asked by Forbes, Bungie’s World Lead, Steve Cotton was asked about the cards and their return in the up coming sequel to which he replied with “no” Surprising right ? It’s almost like you didn’t read the title. Anyway he went on to say this…

“The answer to that question is ‘no’ and the reason it’s ‘no’ is because we want to put the lore in the game,” Cotton¬†told me.¬†“We want people to be able to find the lore. All the story is told through the Adventures, it’s told through the characters in the world, it’s told through the campaign and it’s told through scannables you find throughout the world.”

This is a good step for Destiny and coming from the creators of Halo, I’m confident that they’ll implement this lore well. In regards to game play and story, we’ll just have to wait and see…
